After the storm (Self portrait)

I believe that the best photographs I take are the once that tells a story that people can connect to. I'm constantly battling myself on how personal I should get in my work. I have no problems showing my naked body because it's just a shell, it will change, what's hard is to show what happens underneath.  Sometimes I feel like I'm two persons, one who wants to tell the world everything I experience, show my weaknesses and one person who wants to keep everything hidden and keep a strong facade. What I love about photography is that it allows me to be both. This image of myself being washed up upon land is highly personal but at the same time you don't know the story behind it. My photographs will not change the world, they will not be important in the long run but for me it's a wonderful way of
processing the events in my life.

I'm glad they also liked it at Photo Vogue

Another one for Lifestyle Mirror

Just found out that another one of my photos got published in the online fashion magazine Lifestyle Mirror, based in NY. It's very cool but I just wished they could have spelled my name correctly...

A wreath of flowers

One of the best things about living with my longtime friend/muse is that we can do spontaneous photoshoots.Yesterday evening the light was crazy beautiful so we got on our bikes and went down to the seaside. I made a wreath of the white flowers we got from our friend Vigge and I decided Mi should wear a black dress. Even if it's summer I find myself drawn towards a more dark and gloomy feeling, it's just more who I am at the moment...

Some kind of Frankenstein

I feel like I'm some kind of Frankenstein,
waiting for a shock to bring me back to life
but I don't want to spend my time waiting for lightning to strike.
cause I'm like a princess in a castle high waiting for a kiss to bring me back to life
but i don't want to spend my time waiting for just another guy

Asti

The first time I photographed Asti she was so tiny, sleeping in the arms of my sister. This was 10 years ago and she is just growing more and more beautiful. Just as much as I like photographing her she likes to have her photo taken. I dress her in my own clothes, or as in this case my grandmother's dress from the 50s. Almost all of the photoshoots with Asti have taken place in the big forrest that surrounds my parents house in the Swedish countryside. Even if it's getting more and more distant I'm still remembering when I was a child and playing at the places I'm now returning with my camera. I miss those childhood years, I miss how easy life was, I miss summer breaks and I miss those little things like waking up in the morning by the sound of my mother making breakfast. At every waking moment I was obsessing over horses and spending countless hours in the stable, boys were not important and I didn't know what it meant to have a broken heart. I had a wonderful childhood and I'm forever grateful for the experiences and things my parents have given me.

Photography is my comfort food

I spent the weekend at my parents in the countryside. I was there to celebrate my fathers upcoming birthday and to photograph a wedding. My sister came with her three beautiful children. This little wonderful girl is Siri, the middle one. My life is a bit messy at the moment but photography is like comfort food for my soul.

Because of what you both did to me

Some say love is a burning thing
That it makes a fiery ring
Oh but I know love as a fading thing
Just as fickle as a feather in a stream
See, honey, I saw love,
You see it came to me
It puts its face up to my face so I could see
Yeah then I saw love disfigure me
Into something I am not recognizing

So some say love is a burning thing
That it makes a fiery ring
All that I know love as a caging thing
Just a killer come to call from some awful dream
(Song for Zula, Phosphorescent)
