Melissa

I first saw this girl in the local supermarket like a year ago. I was strucked by her exotic look, not often found in a small, Swedish town. Not only has she a beautiful and interesting look, she is also super tall. When I approached her a couple of weeks ago I learned that her name is Melissa and that she is only 15-years old. This is her very first real photo shoot and I must say that she did brilliant. I was going for a soft, feminine and summery feeling. I used two of my favorite things, flowers and sunlight. I haven't been in a studio for more than a year. In a way I miss it even if I love to use the light that nature supplies. I guess it all comes down to the need of variety.
Without variety life would be extremely boring.

Astrid

This little girl with the amazing hair and the great charisma is my sisters oldest daughter. Astrid is full of life and even though she is so young she knows exactly how to move in front of the camera. It might have something to do with the fact that through out her hole life I have been there, taking her portrait. Sometimes she borrows one of my cameras and takes my portrait instead. I had to be almost twice her age before I was allowed to play around with a camera. I guess that is the beauty of digital these days. When I was little it was expensive since we used film and around my house we took photos to document and not in the sense of art.
Astrid is constantly changing her mind when it comes to what she's gonna be when she grows up. More than once has she said that she would like to become a photographer. I would love that. I guess I just have to wait and see if that is what she actually becomes or if it will lean more towards riding instructor and football player.

Fanny and summer

Finally I got to shoot Fanny when there was no risk of here freezing to death. But instead something bit her so that her foot turned into a football. Poor girl, but she is a great sport so we kept on shooting for just a little bit longer even after that. Fanny has great energy and she really knows how to bring "it". It was fun and I hope you enjoy the pictures. This shoot was kind of a last minute thing and I am very happy with the results.

Gwen

In Berlin I befriended this wonderful person. Her name is Gwen and she is an art student from NY. I wanted to take her portrait so that I could steal a small apart of her with me home to Sweden. Photos work that way for me. It allows me in a way to stop time and to help me remember all the awesome people that I meet along the way. Photography, I think I am in love with you.

Hannah

This German girl with the magical hair is called Hannah. She's a student who also works for a very nice gallery in Berlin. Usually I let people style themselves for the shoots, since I want the clothes to represent who they truly are but when it came to Hannah I just had to dress her in my beautiful vintage dress. I don't buy a lot of clothes since I don't make that much money, but sometimes when I see something that I know is gonna look good in a picture I just can't help myself. Hannah has this kind of Jane Austen thing going on in real life. There is something refined about the way she moves and talks. So that's why I thought the dress and the fake fur would work. The moment she got dressed she really capture that felling I was going for and I am happy with the pics.

Winter

No, it's not snowing in Berlin, thank God! I took these in January and the model is my beautiful Swedish friend Helen, who stayed with me for a while. It was freaking cold outside so we stayed close to my apartment. Two of the pics I took from my bedroom window. I tried a little bit to capture the coldness we all experience once or several times during those dark months of winter.

Cosima

Cosima is my new friend and also an aspiring actress. This german girl has a lovely personality and a laughter is never far away.
We walked around in Berlin for more than two hours while we took these photos. I have two favorites, the first and the third. I'm always trying to capture some magic while I photograph and I believe that in those I got it.

Fanny

When I was back in Sweden a couple of weeks ago I met up with my friend and working model Fanny. We had a lovely shoot in the outside part of the local bathhouse. It was a sunny and beautiful day but of course cold. But, since Fanny is a pro that was not a problem. That is one of the things I really love about working with a real model, they usually give 100% and that usually gives you the chance to take great pictures.
